Students have done some amazing work here in the library this year. In the fall, students learned how to publish using VoiceThread, an online platform that allows them to create presentations using voice, text, images, and videos. VoiceThread allows students to easily share their work with others and invite comments from their peers, teachers, and parents.
Here are two examples of student VoiceThread projects made right here in the library. When you come to a slide where you would like to add a comment, first press “pause," next press "comment," then press the “record” or “type” icon directly beneath the picture slide (remember to also press “stop” when you’re done making a voice recording). There’s no pressure to get your comments right the first time because you always have the option of saving or canceling them.
Jessica L's VoiceThread (Kindergarten)
The students in Mrs. Smith’s kindergarten class have been working on writing and editing stories all year long. To celebrate their accomplishments, Mrs. Smith and I decided we would work together to help the students publish their work. When Jessica came to the library, we photographed her illustrations and recorded her reading her story to create this VoiceThread presentation.

Angela T's VoiceThread (4th Grade)
Mrs. Scott’s fourth grade class has been researching the unique features of the United States. To express their learning, they have created VoiceThread presentations that include photographs of their location and the features they learned about. Angela was especially diligent in finding engaging pictures from photographers on Flickr that would allow her to use their work in her assignment if she gave them proper attribution (Look for the names of the photographers along the bottom of each picture).
